Will it work for your back issue?
A groundbreaking report on back pain treatment published in March 2018 (in medical journal The Lancet) concluded that painkillers, scans and other 'quick fixes' don't work.   
  
So, what did the researchers say does work for relieving back pain?   
  
Pilates and swimming (and some types of yoga - but read my hesitations about yoga for back pain in a recent blog post here).  
  
As a Pilates teacher, I've been teaching people with back issues for years (almost 8 years now, adding up to 850+ hours) and I know a thing or two about back pain.

I was happy to see that the medical world caught up with what I already know.

In around 90% of cases, back pain is helped with Pilates because it's caused by musculoskeletal issues. 

I always say that statistics are really on your side; you have a really good chance (9 in 10!) that Pilates can help you become pain-free - and this without the use of painkillers, surgery or other interventions!
